But western society is allowing a bizarre wholesale change of the the rules and laws. We have catapulted mean words and
specifically mean words about certain races above several actual crimes. It is now worse to say certain mean words than physically hurting others. We grew up on “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” and have turned it into “stick and stones may break my bones but words are worse anyway”.
