My fav Bronco moment? When he left for Virginia
The amount of adoration and love Mendenhall gets on this board is ridiculous. I lived outside of Utah and went to those away games. I went to the firesides. I saw his demeanor at those firesides, so bored, so non-interested. It was time for him to leave.
I will be at the game Saturday night.
I will clap when he is introduced.
I will not give him a standing ovation.
He left the program bare. Bronco said he didn't think BYU could recruit athletes anymore. He loathed the NFL. He is a good defensive coach. I and others did not like him as a head coach of BYU.
His 99 wins? 75 of them came against lackluster competition. New Mexico, Colorado State, Air Force, UNLV, Wyoming, Eastern Illinois, Tulsa, Utah State, San Diego State, Eastern Washington, Northern Iowa, Tulane, Oregon State, UTEP, UCF, San Jose State, Idaho State, Idaho, New Mexico State, Hawaii, Weber State, Middle Tennessee, Nevada, UConn, Virginia, Savannah State, ECU, Cincinnati, Wagner and Fresno State.
So...I will clap, but I will not stand. Glad you left Bronco.
