The chant seemed to be an attempt to

mimic the “Let’s Go Branden” chant. It had the same cadence and feel. I think this attempt to mimic a popular chant was more of a reason for the chant than a true hatred of Mormons. So I reject the premise that the chant somehow means something about Mormons or BYU fans.
