This is good advice. A puppy that nips a small child when provoked is
unlikely to make a habit of biting. Also, a 1 year old dog likely has still has some puppy tendencies that can be trained out.

Our English bulldog went through a short period of light nipping as a puppy and now you can sit on her, pull her ears, get in her face, stick your hand in her mouth, and she absolutely refuses to bite/nip, she'll just walk away from the situation.

That being said, for your specific dog, the teeth baring makes me a little more nervous. Shows that there's some impatience and aggression in the dog's personality that may or may not get better with age. I'd probably rehome to a home with no small children, and then if there's another bite, the dog should be put down.
