While EVs have a lot to offer their users and I think it is a better overall experience, the cost, freedom of travel, and ability to refill the tank quickly and then keep driving are all liberating. EVs achilles heel is the cost, size, weight, and refill time of a battery pack vs a gasoline tank. I personally think outside of the energy storage, EVs are better at everything else.
Imaging driving on the Autobahn with EVs, After hitting 200 mph in your plaid model S you realize that you drained 20% of the battery in just 8 miles and cooked your entire battery pack reducing its life expectancy by about 60K miles. . . Yeah this is why a ban on petrol cars is stupid, ICE engines have a much more efficient energy storage system and will always have a place in the future. Banning something like a petrol or ICE engine is unamerican in my book and should not be supported.
