So while one schedule might be tougher, I still think re-seeding with overall schedule would work. I remember the Lakers and Spurs playing each other with both being over 60 wins and then playing a 50 win New Jersey Nets or Philadelphia 76ers team.

In 2018 the Warriors won 58 games and the Rockets 65 games and they played in the Western Conference Finals for the title. The Warriors won only to steamroll a 50 win Cavaliers team in the Finals. 2017 was similar.
