I have no doubt that they attract top caliber talent,

But it is absolutely incorrect to say they are the "front line" pilots. It is also not seen as a particularly sexy role in the fighter pilot community, and most Navy pilots I know see it as a necessary but not necessarily attractive part of their job

Top Gun question. Do only Navy planes and pilots fly from Aircraft Carriers? Wouldn’t logically the AF have the best
