CF’s biggest problem has always been lack of a central authority
It’s just always been every conference and school for itself, with no overarching central power (like a commissioner) that can build consensus.
Feels like the B10 and SEC are becoming central powers, a la AFC/NFC.

Maybe but I think that is still several more years away. And a 16 team playoff could change conversations fast.
