Welcome. We do have tailgating at BYU but it may not be what you're used to.

Iirc, it is in the Marriott Center parking lot. As for hostile fans, I expect that you will walk away from this football game thinking that you have just been killed with kindness. If you're looking for nightlife you will most likely want to do that in Salt Lake City. I'm not sure if there is much nightlife that includes alcohol in Provo.
