to get the iconic view of the mountains the you seen in photos and on TV. Fans will be welcoming but like any fan base we have some old washed up former HS players or fat fathers of 5 that can't resist trash talking It's a family setting so to speak with a great student section that will be loud.

- For Hotels, anything within 5-6 blocks of downtown is easily walkable. I'd recommend the higher rated hotels on Priceline or Google Hotel list. Grand America is nice but it's decorated like the Queen of England lives there. Someone in their 20's may or may not appreciate it or want something more budget friendly and modern. You could also stay in Park City for a ski town vibe, Midway for a mountain retreat feel (not as much to do there in terms of night life). Even the South end of the Salt Lake Valley is fine to stay at, just avoid places West of I-15 or State Street (this super kid gave me that advice).

- TRAX (light rail) is free downtown. Most of downtown is walkable. Goest to the airport through the West side so can confirm the super kids advice is true. Trax and Bus will get you to BYU from SLC but I'd rent a car if you want to see more than downtown SLC or stops along the Trax route.

For Mexican food unique to SLC, try Red Iguana and get . Neighborhood is a little rough but not far from downtown. They have 2 locations a few block from one anther. #1 is the original but small. #2 is much larger and feels less like a homeless person, prostitute or strung out person will approach you.

Anyway, this advice is coming from a guy that hates to go to downtown SLC so it's probably horrible advice. Just show up, it's a nice smaller city. Just never ever, ever drive the speed limit in the left lane on the freeway.
