Your response is that the countless hours you spend on CB you end up seeing
references to the U? Not sure that's a good response.
But actually, I grew up with the U being my 2nd team. That ended in 97 when BYU was to play Wyoming for the WAC championship. It was known if BYU wins it goes to the Cotton Bowl and the U to the Copper Bowl, but if BYU lost it went to the Copper Bowl and the U stayed home. Not a single one of friends who "cheered" for the U wanted BYU to win. Blew me away. I kept asking them how they could say that when it meant the U lost out on a Bowl game, and they would rather that happen than BYU win. I was done.
