1. If Big 10 and SEC try to make their own division, they will lose interest of a lot of fans. I don't think they will. I think there will be an expanded playoff without autobids, that the Big 10 and SEC get the majority of spots for, but I don't think they shut out the Big 12, ACC, etc. completely.
2. I don't think the Big 10 is likely to take all 4 of the remaining schools they're looking at from the PAC. Only if they shut the door entirely on Notre Dame (in which case, point #1 makes even more sense). Nor do I think Utah is a no-brainer for the Big 12. They don't add a new market. They will be competing for recruits with Big 12 schools if added to the Big 12, without brining in as much as the other 3 4-corner schools market-wise or recruiting-wise. Or as much as SDSU, who I think should get a real look if somehow the Big 10 does take all 4 of the PAC schools it's considering.
If the Big 10 does decimate the PAC, I think BYU should lobby for a package of schools that doesn't include Utah to be added to the Big 12.
