Look at MLB baseball. There's a bigger disparity in payroll between what the
Dodgers are shelling out every year ($207 million) and what the Orioles are paying ($27 million) in team salaries.

Just because Team A has more money, it doesn't necessarily translate into on the field success. It helps, but it doesn't relegate smaller-revenue teams to an place where they can't compete. Cleveland has the 4th smallest payroll in MLB and is first place in the AL Central.
