Sure the Big2 will control the rules and structure but they’ll likely have to hold a spot in the playoffs for other conferences, similar to how the G5 New Years invite works now. So for example if they expand to an 8-12 team playoff, then the Big2 conferences would take most of those spots but leave 1-2 for other conferences. So the access is much less for others and they still keep most of the money for themselves.
For non football sports, I’d think that the playoff structure and access wouldn’t change much. Basketball tournament, the Big2 would like to control to get more of the money and assume from the ncaa, but they’d be crazy to eliminate the concept of allowing the little guy.
