She had already made plans to attend another relatively prestigious university, and then BYU contacted her about an open spot just a few weeks before Fall Semester began. She accepted BYU’s offer and had to do a quick turnaround to find housing and make alternate arrangements.
It was an absolute travesty that she didn’t gain admission in the first place—she had a better GPA (taking almost exclusively AP and honors classes) than some of the other youth in our stake that got in taking easier classes.
