It was when we merged into larger groups of younger aged fans who had been drinking before 10:30 am when things went sideways.  It was so bad where we were sitting that my wife wouldn't go to the restroom alone and wanted to leave the game early so we'd not have to deal with mocking crowds.  (I insisted that we stay and sing the fight song with the team.)  

There are a lot of great UO fans - many of whom are my friends.  What struck me most was that when people were loudly mocking and cursing "Mormons" no one around us shut them down.  No UO fans suggested they take their bigotry elsewhere.  That really struck me.
