My approach to mental health therapy is to work closely with a client’s doctors to rule out medical concerns, as some physical health problems mimic depression or other mental health conditions.
Our mental health and physical health are integrated so tightly. We refer to them by different names and that can be useful for discussion and treatment purposes, but really we are one integrated organism and one body system—and there really is not any difference between our mental and physical health. We are either well, unwell, or somewhere in between.
