I had a Ute fan neighbor who was in a single adult Bishopric tell me

that if you looked at 2 LDS church members--one associated with BYU and one associated with Utah--the one associated with BYU has to live a "higher" version of the gospel than his Utah counterpart because he is representing the church. I asked him where that is documented in the church manuals that guide how things work but of course he just said that didn't matter. Oh--and right after saying that and having me disagree, he said that is why people hate BYU justly--because THEY believe they are of a higher order member of the church. Wait....WHAT?!?
