A lot of houses were started a year ago whose intended buyers no longer qualify.
People will still change jobs. Divorces will happen. People will die. Others will grow out of the houses they were in. In the very short term some people will stay put because they are locked in at high prices and low rates, but life will happen and homes will be sold again. Then, once people who realize that they need to sell see that prices are going down, they will become more aggressive and prices will come down more. Just as buyers panicked and drove prices up, buyers will eventually do the same. That's just the way economic cycles go. The bottom will probably be down 15-25% and will take a couple of years. But it will happen.

If you need to sell, don't be like the realtors. Sell while (if) you still can.
