I'm willing to believe you if there is any shred of evidence that he holds any respect for his alma mater at all.

Don't cite some private conversation, because private respect is meaningless when you openly disregard, put-down, and metaphorically spit upon the thing you allegedly respect.

I'm not talking about beating us in a game or at recruiting, either. His job is to win, and he should do that. But refusing to refer to the rivalry game as a rivalry game, refusing to say the name of the school, that is what I am referring to.

His public behavior is petty and disrespectful and fuels the unhealthy part of the rivalry. Help me understand how he actually holds respect for the school he used to play for.
