He was never going to accept the BYU job. Ever. He does not respect the BYU

football program. I believe he sees himself as alumni of LaVell’s program specifically, and when he was no longer involved, he had has not given BYU football any recognition that they even have a right to exist. They’re just “these guys” that they play most years, and nothing else.
