Saban's scholarship offer to Alabama, reports that Jacob tore it up on the BYU scout team, emergence as the clear backup to Hall, and all sorts of accounts like this about how he excelled in high school. I was stoked about his becoming starting QB at BYU.

Then I see ARod totally afraid to give Conover any PT even when Jaren is clearly injured. ARod never hesitated to give B Romney PT. ARod has worked w/Conover for 3 years and knows the QB position. Last year and this I see Jacob look shaky in limited minutes. Then I hear Jacob has mental health concerns. Being QB is the most mentally demanding of any positions in sports. Could it be a confidence issue he struggles with? I really don't understand this situation.
