Ice that lower back, call a teledoc to get some Prednisone or something.
I'm no doctor, but I probably wouldn't have taken your wife's prescription. May want to mention that to the teledoc

Get a TENs device. It won’t resolve the issue but they have been proven to mitigate the pain (in some cases)
