Off. I’ve been dealing with a disc for 25+ years. Early stages, get it actually diagnosed. Get into a doctor and get the ball rolling. He will probably order x rays and pt. X-rays rarely give answers for disc issues but they are cheap and rule out any bone issues. Most insurance requires you to do physical therapy before they will order an mri since for many people, back pain will resolve in a few weeks. Give it an honest try, sometimes back pain can get resolved.
Then get the mri as soon as you can. With the mri you at least know the severity of the injury. With radiating leg pain, it’s often a herniated disc pushing on a nerve. I’ve had luck with epidural steroid injections. For many, that will knock the inflammation down enough to allow motion. Some protrusions can shrink. Others may need surgery.
