BYU is currently a better school academically. That said,
I have a number of LDS neighbors here in central Utah Valley that are having their kids go to UVU for cultural reasons. They (and their kids) see BYU as becoming more and more like BYU-I. Don’t know if that’s true or not but that’s the perception among some. If it is true, I don’t know how much longer BYU will have the superior reputation.

UVU is considered a lesser school because it is a lesser school. I mean I don't mean any offense but there are numerous
