From my experience, leaving BYU to UVU was a huge relief. Classes were much
easier at UVU. UVU had a lot of part-time teachers (To save money I presume) and so you didn’t have the same feel of academic rigor at at UVU. It was just more laid back, warm. It was nice. I liked it but it was just not as serious, competitive, and cold as BYU felt. Teachers at BYU hammered you for grammar, punctuation, great citations and sourcing. At UVU, they were a little more relaxed, not as technical on the small stuff. That’s how it felt to me anyway.

I think if you’re looking to just get a job, UVU would be great. It was great for me. But as far as preparation for more serious research, graduate school, med school, law school, or academia? BYU is gonna do a better job shaping you up. My opinion. Most school rankings I’ve ever seen agree.
