It's not that the yewts are moralistic, PAC loyal homers. We know from what they did to BYU they think about besting BYU and nothing else.

And it doesn't make sense for them to be loyal to the PAC at the expense of their own bottom line.

This is what's really going on: the PAC is their only option. The Big12 would be their best option but it makes no sense for the Big12 to take them.

They don't provide a new market for eyeballs or recruits and only a small one even if it wasn't already captured by BYU.

Their athletics performance is The Emporer's New Clothes- exhibit A is them throwing a parade for an embarrassing loss to the third place team from another conference.

Research status means even less than academics to college sports, but even there they're not exactly a book.

Lacking options to go anywhere, yewts are left to try to prop up a disgraced and dying PAC, and feign loyalty, and hope to keep up the charade that the PAC is still P5.

That's the only way they'll still be in a p5.
