This vacation was to a private beach without plans!
The only plans were, we had a two night hotel reservation and we were going to a specific beach. That’s it!
HCBW is definitely one who likes concrete plans. But then she has a tendency to change plans.
For instance, she wants to know how long we plan to be at the beach for.
As soon as we leave the beach, she wants to know what we plan to do for dinner, as opposed to getting back to the hotel and just finding something close by. She sort of hates sit down restaurants because she thinks our kids are too disruptive (in reality she’s just a really nice person who would like to be courteous to others and therefore thinks our family is too disruptive in restaurants).

Maybe his wife needs to feel like she has control to avoid unknowns. Some people don't deal well with unknowns.
