But depends on your stage of life. 4 seems the most fun, but I agree that .5% seems low for first key hire. I can’t imagine they’d hand out 10x that for a little less salary, as has been suggested above.
For my stage of life, 3 gives the best balance of all things with less upside and a great boss. Seems like the path.

#4 isn't enough equity if you are the first employee who isn't a founder. I'd want more. If they get any investment
