or discredit them in some way without realizing what we just did or how it looked to the other driver. Of course, to then engage someone in dangerous driving maneuvers to retaliate and to become angry about it is stupid, but it is a natural response and common.

Slow down. Be polite. Let others cut in. Don't be offended when someone passes you or cuts you off.
