as the season progressed?
Knell was a no-show in several key games, isn't the best defender, but has a great attitude. It was his tendency to disappear when it mattered.
Hall is good but not elite. I realize there are fanboys who believe he is absolutely fantastic, but after having watched Ainge, Lyday, Jimmer and others, he's not wonderful.
He's strong, works hard and has cut down his turnovers. He doesn't shoot free throws well, and he can't finish at the rim. He drives hard to the basket hoping to draw a foul. But he rarely finishes the layup. He can also force shots that aren't there.
If one can't find better, then one goes with what one has, hoping experience will lead to improvement.
