I DO think he's a better hire than Pope was in 2019-20. And yet I DON'T expect KY's first year to be as wildly successful as Pope's first year was, either. The Big 12 is quite the grind for a 1st-year D1 HC I gotta imagine. Losing Chandler & probably Khalifa & maybe Dallin are all huge blows.
I really hope Young can pull some recruiting rabbits outa the hat in his first offseason. If he can't be a recruiting upgrade on Pope (which wouldn't be all that huge an accomplishment), I'm not so sure he leaves a better legacy at BYU if his career amounts to the same time frame.
I'm really pulling for KY, though. And for the moment remain very hopeful.
