Vegas has many transplants from the Great Lakes region and the Northeast, who
have played hockey and/or been hockey fans all their lives. Likewise in Phoenix, Tampa, Miami, LA, and Orange County. I understand that they form the core of support in those cities.
Vegas also has lots of out-of-town visitors who fill the arena as tourists.
Not sure how this will work in Utah.

It all comes down to winning. Hockey didn’t catch on in Phoenix because the team has 1 division championship in 30 years
