This is frustratingly where the lawyers wrote the rules, and they're contrary to
common-sense and progress. If the autopilot NEEDED a driver to be constantly vigilant, it wouldn't be allowed on the roads at all. This is ALL about liability.

The big-brothering on the free full-auto trial period this month is what has kept me from more than trying it out once or twice.

And I don't care if I am shamed for it, but when I'm using the auto-steer function that comes standard , I cover up my cabin camera, and place a weight on the steering wheel, just so I'm not yelled at constantly to touch the wheel and keep my eyes on the road. Sorry, when it tells at me to stop taking my eyes off the road BECAUSE I'm looking at the display to figure out what ELSE it was telling at me about before that, the litigation-managers have jumped the shark. Thankfully, auto-steer doesn't require the cabin camera being unobstructed to function, like the full-auto trial does.

*I should mention, I'm not sleeping or anything stupid. But the tech is there for me not to have to "pretend" drive as a complete redundancy, so while my eyes are still facing forward, they're not peeled to the road.
