steering wheels entirely. HOWEVER, as long as the programming can emergency maneuver just long enough to yell at you to take control and have you do it, that's sufficient for the PROHIBITIVE majority of cases. And if something happens drastic and quickly enough that the programming can't keep the vehicles passengers safe, it's a good bet a human driver wouldn't fare much better.

So, I'm good with being an "Aaugh! Take control immediately!" alarm away from resuming complete control.
