Yes, industrial iot is further along at automation
Probably due to the lack of commensurate cybersecurity risk.

IIoT isn’t a good analogy due to its unregulated nature (and lack of liability concerns). The security standards are well below something of the financial or aerospace industries. I didn’t want to put them forward as an example of a space wheee we have the technology to solve a problem, because IIoT doesn’t apply the tech we have available, by and large. Probably because the threats aren’t there like they are with aero and finance.

It’s probably worth noting both aero and finance still have humans in many of the loops for their processes.
