I don’t think we never will. Just like we’ll never be able to make accident proof driving. There will always be an imperfection.

I was talking about the status quo. A cyber attack zero day exploited and crashing a car will be a much less frequent event than a drunk driver causing a fatality. But you can bet the media will pick it up and an emotional response will make us feel like it’s worse and the cybers are really scary.

The analogy that I would compare it to is aeronautical and financial sector cybersecurity. They aren’t perfect, and there are vulnerabilities, but the system as a whole operates with minimal malfeasance in the face of a very determined set of threats.
