AirBnBs on average compete against hotels and take housing supply away from full
time residents. Lots of data and reports on this. There may be some isolated incidents where eliminating increasing Airbnb will increase second home purchases but that would be very rare. This point is not even debatable. So your premise is if we had more Airbnb we would have less second home purchases so housing costs would go down?
