Way way back college was about getting an education. Scholarship athletes got a
free education--i.e., significant money in exchange for athletic skills. Most schmucks had to work part-time while attending school in order to earn their degree.
It was more like high school than the pros 70-80 years ago. TV and money changed everything, and universities began to rake in the profits.
My question is when will we think we have to pay junior and senior high school stars for their playing time? I mean these are games that originally were played for fun.
