That can be done with informal scheduling arrangements - ie, some Big 12 scheduling BYU in October and November. No contracts or official relationships between BYU and the Big 12 and no money changing hands. But, you would think that the TV execs for both Fox and ESPN would realize this and be brokering some deals.
Honestly, just two games per year against Big 12 teams would be enough. Three on occasion if there is a neutral site game - a la UWV in 2016.
The 2014 schedule would upgrade tremendously if we switched out Savannah St. for even Iowa St. in November.
The 2015 schedule would improve if you switched out the road trip to Southern Miss to Iowa St. and moved SJSU for a home game against Texas Tech.
And then, add an October road game to Texas Tech and a November home game against Oklahoma St. in 2016, so on an so forth.
