Make renewal of the current ESPN contract part of the deal when it's up. BYU would receive its contractual money from ESPN until the current Big 12 TV contract is up in 2025. BYU would have its own money plus a normal share of Big 12 bowl/playoff money.

We would still be ahead in money from where we are now. We would get better quality games for ESPN to broadcast on top of their current Big 12 deal. We would not be left out of the coming power shift in CFB, no matter which way it goes. When the current Big 12 TV contract is up, BYU receives its full share of money as a full member of the Big 12.
