Week 4 - Sat, Sept 20, 2014 - #22 BYU (3-0) vs UVA (1-2) - Provo, UT - 3:30 p.m. EST - ESPN2

Revenge! Indisputably Bronco’s most embarrassing loss occurred during week 1 of last season to this UVA team. This time there is no 3 hour rain delay to slow down the Cougars. Hine opens the game with a bang by finally returning a KO for a TD (without it getting called back!). After that there is no looking back. BYU absolutely mops the floor with the Cavaliers who look disinterested, scared and out of breath. Hill nails Blackmon for a 41 yard TD pass, completes another TD pass to Apo (21 yards) and then Algie Brown punches one in after a long JSwag run to make it 28-0 after one quarter. BYU has 3 offensive possessions, 4 total TD’s, 258 yards of offense and has held Uconn to only 2 first downs. BYU shows a new pooch punt formation with Taysom that pins UVA back on their own 4 yard line. Bills then rocks a UVA WR’s world forcing an incomplete pass and a 3rd and long. The UVA QB escapes a Fua rush but gets picked off on a great play by Johnson, who avoids two would-be tacklers and flips into the end zone. BYU tacks on one more TD before the half just for good measure when Taysom finds the endzone off a scramble from 29 yards out. Half time score 42-0...UVA is checked out...ESPN announcers gushing about Taysom and now say he’s a darkhorse Heisman candidate.

UVA actually scores two TD’s in the third but Taysom tosses another TD to Blackmon (41 yards, off a simple bubble screen), and another to Mathews (29 yards), and JSwag runs another one in from 8 yards out. BYU dominates in their biggest win against a BCS program since the 59-0 drubbing of UCLA. Kurtz even makes his first appearance and grabs two catches on two targets. Cougars 63 - Cavs 14.
