At the Houston game, half the time we didn't get to say "another cougar first down" because he was too busy saying that it was a grandma sycamore's third down conversion. And, heck, would it kill them to play a bunch of replays during an official review, or after a controversial penalty. I understand that they don't want people getting angry at the refs, but that is one area where watching from home is objectively better.
I understand that advertising may be necessary. But the fact of the matter is, if they make the experience worse at the stadium, less people will come. ESPN and others are doing everything possible to improve the experience when watching at home. So, if ESPN can make it so nice to watch at home, and there are many things that make attending the games less enjoyable, then less people will come.
And, while I appreciate that you're a bigger fan than any of us, and we would all be honored just to lick the dust off your blue goggles, none of that is really pertinent to this discussion. The poster asked why attendance is suffering, and advertising is one reason.
