on the job. For those that rant on and on about that they certainly shouldn't be advocating for a HC to learn on the job.

Trust me I get that Bronco, Crowton and LaVell learned to be HC on the job as none of them had ever done that before getting the duties at BYU. Two of the 3 have actually been good for BYU...I'm OK if/when it is time to find the next coach that they may not have had HC responsibilities before...just like I'm OK with it at the coordinator level (to an extent)...point is if you are one that doesn't allow it at the coordinator position - don't be one advocating for it in any way shape or form at the HC level...

Note - not saying you are in that boat...written in generalized terms...
