It depends on your perspective, I guess.
I have come to the conclusion that our LB corps is weak. That fact that Kaufusi is playing OLB confirms it. This is not a knock on Bronson at all. It's just that he's a 4-3 DE. He's really not a good fit for the 3-4 defense. The only LB starter with any significant experience is Fua. Stout, Alisa, Langi, Leuta-Douyere and to a lesser extent Pikula, just haven't played much LB at the D1 level at all.

None of these guys are playing terrible. But the LB corps in this defense has to be absolutely rock solid and they just aren't.

We have a lot of great young talent. Guys who have shown flashes of brilliance, but who have also made a lot of mistakes and who haven't fully grown into their bodies yet.

That's why I have a hard time just making the simple leap that it's all on the coaches.

There's been a major change in player personnel from last year to this and to ignore that seems a little silly.
