I know a few who switched from BYU to UTah fans, surprisingly

almost none of them did so becasue of wins vs losses by either team.

For most, it was a lifestyle change that facilitated it.

They wanted to be more of the rebel, edgy type instead of a typical Mormon... complete with goatees and an instant irritable factor to go with it. They liked to mock BYU and fans for pretty much everything not having to do with sports, but more related to just being a typical Mormon.
