You aren't responsible for "sins" if you don't know it is a sin.
While the LDS church still teaches that extra marital sex is wrong, many religions don't, or they think it is a tiny sin, or kids just aren't religious at all. If a young man who grew up in the inner city whose mom got knocked up when she was 15 has sex in HS and college as do 90% of his friends, that is not a sin since he doesn't know any better. Most of these kids grow up in hard backgrounds where they are taught differently, you can't apply LDS standards to them if they don't know any better nor subscribe to your way of thinking. For example, 70% of African American children are born to single mothers. I think you should give those kids a break if they don't have the same moral standards as the mostly white BYU kids who grew up in 2 parent households to LDS parents.
