Now I know by your attempts to insult me you think I hate BYU... I don't. I know it is painful to see some hard facts put before you, and whether you like it or not they are the facts.

For years I've heard some or the more ardent supporters of BYU try to claim some manifest destiny because they wanted athletics at BYU to have some divine purpose. They've made many outlandish claims, such as yours, without so much as a link to back it up. So I would like to see some quotes from the Quorum of the Twelve that claim BYU athletics is the #3 missionary tool in the church, much less a legitimate tool at all. Just sitting here not trying I can think of a handful that logically and legitimately are better tools at spreading the gospel than BYU sports is.

But regardless, we have the test. If BYU really is a legitimate and effective missionary tool for the church they will spare no expense to remain competitive. If it isn't, they won't.
