in to the program. That isn't what Bronco did with Ziggy. Bronco essentially allowed Ziggy to walk on much like a bouncer decides who can enter a night club. Bronco allowed Ziggy to enter but based on the news accounts of how Ziggy joined the team it doesn't sound like there was much "recruiting" being done.

I'm not critical of BMs decisions at the time given how raw Ziggy was but really you and I recruited Ziggy as much as Bronco did. Bronco recruited KVN. Bronco was there when Ziggy fell into his lap.
