Taysom was the low hanging fruit who had come to their summer camp with very little national hype, even though he was the best athlete to come out of Idaho in 10 years. BYU underestimated the potential of Taysom even with a close view of him at summer camps and only wanted him after the bigger fish said no. Once BYU went into silence mode with him, Stanford, Boise State, Arizona, Utah, and others chased after him until Stanford won him over despite having 2 losing seasons in a row under Jim Harbaugh.
